Oven smells – first aid from the experts

Is an odour coming from your oven? Whether it’s noxious, weird or musty – or whether it smells of food, fish, gas, rubber, plastic, detergent, smoke, electricity or urine or is simply sour, bad, unpleasant or burnt – the first thing to do is always clean your oven. Here at Bosch Home Appliances, we recommend that you do so using washing-up liquid, warm water, a damp cloth and a stainless steel scouring pad. In our video, we will show you, step by step, how to clean your oven the easy way. Check out the tips in ourvideonow and the smell in your oven will soon be consigned to history.

If your oven smells of oven spray, it’s usually enough to wipe it with a damp cloth.

If your oven smells of mould, we recommend giving the rubber seal a thorough clean in the manner described above. Leftover food has probably built up and is now turning mouldy.

If your oven smells charred, however, this is a case for the customer service team. This is a problem that you should always get checked out as soon as possible – and you should avoid using your oven until it has been dealt with.
